RC Parts and Accessories We’ve Tried from Amazon

We always encourage folks to support their local hobby shops (we purchase from Family Hobbies, Extreme Hobby Shop, Mach Speed Hobbies, and Cookeville Hobbies), but on occasion we all succumb to the on-demand economy and order parts online. These are parts and accessories that we’ve actually ordered from Amazon and use at RC Field Days.

6 Channel RC Transmitter:

After fighting interference when all of us were out together, we picked up a DUMBORC-X6 2.4Ghz 6 Channel RC Transmitter with Receiver Low Power Alarm and Out of Control Protection RC Radio Controller for Remote Car/Boat/Tank Mixed Mode Remote Controller (Without GYRO) for one of our Losi Nightcrawlers.

Batteries and Accessories:

Safety is always key, but these bags also make storage and organization easier! We love our Zeee Lipo Safe Bag Fireproof Explosionproof Bag Large Capacity Lipo Battery Storage Guard Safe Pouch for Charge & Storage(8.46 x 6.5 x 5.71 in ).

We took a chance on the Ovonic 3S Lipo Battery 50C 3600mAh 11.1V Lipo Battery with XT60 Extra EC3 Connector for 1/8 1/10 RC Car Truck Boat Vehicles. So far so good with this one and it never hurts to have an extra battery around!

Wheels and Tires:

We like our Traxxas TRX-4, but there’s no denying that it’s top heavy. We generally run our stock Axial Deadbolt tires on the Traxxas. With tire swapping this year, we picked up this spare set of wheels: GoolRC 4PCS Metal 1.9″ Beadlock Wheel Rim Hub for 1/10 Traxxas Hsp Tamiya Axial SCX10 D90 HPI RC Car (Grey).

We run a variety of terrains and were looking for a good all-purpose tire. We ran Duratrax Deep Woods 1.9 Inch RC Rock Crawler Tires with Foam Inserts, C3 Super Soft Compound, High Traction, Unmounted, (Set of 2) this summer. We cut some of the lugs before testing them in Moab in October.

While we like the Deep Woods, we prefer the Duratrax Showdown 1.9 Inch RC Rock Crawler Tires with Foam Inserts, C3 Super Soft Compound, High Traction, Unmounted, (Set of 2) on our favorite trails. The sandstone in Moab took a toll on these Showdowns in December!

Parts:

Sometimes you need to play around with suspension set ups. Our Capra is currently running Axial Spring, 13x70mm 0.72lbs, Purple Extra Soft (2), AXI233004.

We also added weight with kingsea 2Pcs Heavy Brass Portal Drive Housing Steering Knuckle 170g Compatible with Axial Capra UTB SCX10III AXI03007 Capra Unlimited Trail Buggy UTB 1/10 Rc Crawler Brass Counterweight.

When we needed light for our RocktoberFest NightCrawl and Bonfire, we went with an Axial LED Light Bar Board: UTB, AXI230002.

It’s no secret we enjoy bashing our ARRMA Granite. It holds up really well to the abuse, but sometimes you need to do a little maintenance, like ARRMA Shock Set, Front (2), ARA330550.

We generally pick up spare parts at the local hobby shop, but ordered 5x11x4mm | MR115-2RS (10 Bearings) for Traxxas 5116 online this year.

We love to challenge ourselves, which is why we are constantly evolving our trails, courses, and even rig set ups.
